The Four Laws Compass · two minutes

An urge is not an order

Freedom can begin in the space between an impulse and an action.

Try this now

  1. Pause before a low-stakes impulse such as checking your phone, buying something unnecessary, or sending a sharp reply.
  2. Name the impulse without insulting yourself: “I want relief,” “I want to be right,” or “I want a distraction.”
  3. Choose one alternative for two minutes, then reassess. This reflection is not treatment or emergency support; seek qualified help for dangerous or persistent compulsions.

A question to carry: What choice serves your intention after the immediate pressure passes?

How the Four Laws work together

Live Free asks whether a habit has taken over your judgment. Intention points toward Betterment. Harm None limits harmful choices, Love More keeps care present, and Fear Less permits discomfort without a promise of control.
